Carl D. Brown
Executive Director

Carl is an Oakland-based documentary filmmaker and video producer currently working with clients in The San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles and New York City. As a director, producer, directory of photography and editor, Carl started his own freelance production company, Corduroy Media, in 2003. His interest in digital storytelling, cinematography, and creating compelling narratives, motivates his projects with independent artists, non-profit foundations, educational groups and corporate and commercial clients. In 2008, Corduroy released 2nd Verse: The Rebirth of Poetry, awarded best documentary at San Francisco Independent, Santa Cruz, and London Independent Film Festivals. Carl recently completed a ten month project with MTV producing segments for their Emmy Award winning Choose or Lose campaign. His broadcast work has been aired on MTV, MTV 2, MTV Tres, MTV U, and VH1 as well as distributed on-line by the Associated Press. Along with producing, shooting, and editing he also leads digital production, documentary film and media literacy workshops for youth and adults.
