Carl
D. Brown
Executive Director, Producer, Cinematographer, Editor
In
2002, Carl Brown moved from Brooklyn, NY to the Bay Area and began
working in digital film production. Having attended The Tisch School
for Film and Television he started his own freelance production
company, Corduroy Media. |
His concern with social inequality, environmental racism and corporate
control of information and media outlets motivates his projects
with independent artists, non-profit foundations, and educational
groups. He currently works with clients in the Bay Area and New
York, including Just Think, The Student Conservation Association,
Youth Speaks, Mills College, The Carnegie Foundation and Rebel Soul
Records. His educational, narrative and corporate work have been
broadcast on VH1 and shown at film festivals, educational conferences,
and corporate trainings in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York,
Montreal, Barcelona, and Kuala Lumpur. Along with producing, directing,
shooting, and editing he also teaches filmmaking and digital video
production at the Film Arts Foundation’ youth education program,
TILT. Carl continues to work with underserved communities and organizations
dedicated to education and equality. Leading projects highlighting
individuals and communities so rarely touched by mainstream media.
Carl hopes to provide a bridge of communication and understanding
between divergent religious, racial and social groups. |

Erin
Beach
Director, Producer, Cinematographer, Editor
Erin
Beach is a professional photographer, videographer and journalist.
Erin is currently a producer at CBS MarketWatch, where she's worked
for six years producing and shooting segments for the nationally
syndicated CBS MarketWatch Weekend television show, as well as multimedia
packages for the Web site |
In
2002, Erin produced and filmed a documentary about an inner city
hip-hop dance troupe in Oakland that helps keep kids off the streets.
It is currently in post- production. In 2000, Erin spent 18
days in Havana, Cuba, studying photography with National Geographic
photographer David Allan Harvey. She focused on teen culture, a
recurring theme in her work. Erin's photographs have appeared in
USA Today, the San Francisco Chronicle, the Chicago Tribune, the
Pioneer Press newspaper group, the Charleston (WV) Gazette and the
Winston-Salem Journal. She graduated from North Carolina State University
with a photojournalism degree.

Ben
Kruer
Production Assistant, Associate Producer
Ben
is a silk-screener, photographer, filmmaker and advocate for independent
media outlets. Originally from Grand Rapids, MI. Ben has trotted
and slam-dunked all around the Globe. Now living in San Francisco
he has become an integral part of Corduroy Media, providing production
and producing support for all of our projects and assisting in
our silk-screening workshops. Most recently dubbed "Mr. Smiley"
by the Last Poets Ben's constant support and attention to detail
continues to bring a sense of ease and confidence to in-field
production. He is the descendant of the noble pirates and takes
the preservation of his heritage very seriously.
