Corduroy Media began as a San Francisco Video Production company in 2003 and has grown to be much more. However, video production will always be a core service we provide to our clients and agency partners. Thanks to technology, video production has become ubiquitous in modern society. Each one of use, with access to a cell phone, can create and distribute video content real-time. But even with the advent of this technology the tenants of professional video production have not changed.

At Corduroy Media, whether we are producing video based on our own creative or working with an agency partner, we work hard to insure that we are not just executing on an idea, but constantly iterating to insure that the idea is expressed in the most effective and compelling way possible. We break down any video production project into the following steps.

  • Discovery

  • Engagement

  • Pre-Production

  • Production

  • Post-Production

Regardless of the project each one of these phases of production requires leadership, communication and consensus building. We take our job as creative consultants very seriously and “own” every step of the production process while building in numerous opportunities for collaboration and feedback from our client partners.

While, we deploy and use the latest tech and equipment it all must be at the service of the creative approach. Hi-def cameras and cinematic lenses aren’t always the right tools, while we often employ them to help us create beautiful imagery, sometimes a smartphone and a hi-speed internet connection are the right tools for the job. Regardless of the project, from a national broadcast commercial to an emotive fundraising documentary, we guide our clients through each phase of the production process and suggestion the appropriate production approach, tools and strategy to meet the communication goals.
